All his life, Jaime has been infatuated with all things European. He loved the mystery of mechanical things and to this day has a fervor for learning. He would fix the broken family clock, his mother’s jewelry, even their family car. From the time he was 10 or 11 he was driving his mother crazy by reading her stories out of Road and Track magazine. His first car was a ’71 super beetle that was literally held together with bailing wire and bondo. He has had multiple German cars over the years, Porsches, BMWs, VWs, but his favorite was Gretchen, a 1966 VW beetle that he restored to a show winner and used as a daily driver from 1991 till the car was totaled sadly in 2004.
Jaime originally trained as an aircraft mechanic, and holds Airframe and Powerplant mechanics certificates from the FAA. Before co-founding Eastside Bavarian, Jaime spent 10 years with the largest BMW dealer in the Pacific NW, as the Shop Foreman and a BMW Master Technician. Jaime is truly dedicated to his craft, his team, and his customers.
Jaime and his charming wife Julie both grew up in Washington and have recently made the cross-country move to Utah to be part of the Morris Brothers team. Julie is a wildlife biologist and editor. Together they have three amazing daughters, two in college in Washington (Go Zags!), and the oldest working for Boeing. As an avid outdoorsman, Jaime enjoys hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, photography, and exploring whenever the opportunity presents itself. Jaime’s perfect Saturday: exploring the backwoods on horseback, or by bicycle.
